It's been a long time since I had time to update this page but hopefully I'm going to be able to make enough of an effort from now. It is going to be packed so a good night is deffo on the cards. Doors open at 7.30pm

Feck!!! Another update!

After a cracking night at The Black Bull, we just wanted to say thanx to the whole audience, regular followers & locals alike. We thoroughly enjoyed the night & obviously everyone else did too. Also a big thanx to Colin the landlord for inviting us in the first place. We're looking forward to a return visit!

Our next gig should have been the charity do at Killamarsh on 13th June but we've just been asked to play another in the meantime, so.........an addition to our current gig list is:

Friday 6th June sees us playing the South Sea, Broomhill, Sheffield. Usual arrangements apply, 9.00pm kick-off & free entry. Hope to see ya there!

We're still looking for the right drummer to replace Nigel as he has to leave us soon. Get in touch if you think you can fill his stool!!
ALL THE BEST!

TIME FOR AN UPDATE

It's taken a while to get around to updating this page but things have been quite busy lately. A few gigs have passed since the last update but the latest development is that we're now looking for a drummer to replace Nigel as he has to leave us soon. He's staying until we find a replacement though so it's not all bad news! Get in touch if you think you might fancy the challenge, or know anyone you think may be suitable.

The most recent gig was Thursdsay 22nd May when we played at West Street Live in Sheffield. A great venue and the sound was awesome too. Apart from three power failures during our first set, the gig went down well, especially with the management who booked us for 2 weekend gigs later in the year. Saturday 30th August & Friday 21st November!

Still no news on our Mascot "Stripe" who was stolen from George & Dragon when we played there last weekend. Thievin bastard!

Anyway, here's our fully up-to-date gig list & I'll try to update this page more regularly in future. Hopefully won't have to be putting as much time into finding a new drummer.

LATEST NEWS UPDATE

A great turnout for last Friday's gig at the British Oak, well exceeded our expectations. All the other pubs in Mosborough were dead due to the lousy weather and the "skint after Christmas" syndrome. The British Oak was buzzin though. Another great night with a great atmosphere. Thanx to everyone for making the effort & supporting us. Unfortunately we got no video clips but there's always another time for that.
We'll be back there again on Friday 29th February.

This coming Friday,18th January, we'll be appearing at Tickhill Institute, Tickhill, Doincaster, along with 2 other local bands. THE OUTFIT and THE DN ALLSTARS. Check' em out by clicking the links. Show starts at 8.00pm & it's a measly £2.00 to get in!

Future plans are starting to take shape too with preparations starting for a couple of big gigs. April will see us returning to the Boot & Shoe at Whitwell, the exact date still to be confirmed but it's looking likely for either the 12th or the 26th.
Although still a long way off, the 13th June is looking like a date for the diary too. Plans are for a charity bash in aid of Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield. The venue will be Nethergreen Club, Killamarsh, admission will be £1.00 & ALL proceeds from the night (including our share) will be donated to Weston Park.
Full details will be posted as soon as these gigs are confirmed.

Thanx again for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon.
ALL THE BEST!

RE: BRITISH OAK GIG 15th December

A massive thanx to everyone who came to see us at the British Oak last night. Another fantastic crowd made it an awesome night. Although we provide the tunes, it's you lot that create the top atmosphere. You're getting better every time!! THANX!!!!
Pics from this gig will be posted soon.
As soon as we'd finished playing, the pub manager was out with his diary wanting to book us again. Friday 11th January 2008 it is!!
I promised Baggy we would do him a dedication for his birthday. As no-one brought a camcorder, we had to record "Gotta Gettaway" on a phone. Click on the song title to watch.
Thanx again to all who were involved & we hope to see you at the White Swan, Dronfield on Friday 21st December!

Saturday 15th December, British Oak, Mosborough, Sheffield

We're nearly there now and as it seems like ages since our last gig, we're all buzzin & raring to go. There will be at least 3 new ungigged songs added to our SLF covers set and maybe even a 4th depending on how Saturday's rehearsal goes. Wait & See and Beirut Moon will also be staying in there too.
Hope to see some of you there!
Here's a link to a map of how to get there: http://www.multimap.com/hotels/?&hloc=GBS205AY

A great night at Whitwell

A good turnout at the Boot & Shoe, Whitwell on Saturday 17th November. Although it took the crowd a while to get into the swing of things, once the sound of "Go For It" kicked in to introduce the second half, (all SLF songs) everyone began to liven up. Two new songs also got their first airing at a gig in the shape of Beirut Moon and Wait & See. Pics from the gig are also on our Myspace page now. Video clips should also be posted within the next week or so. A big thanks to Colin & Damian for arranging the night and also thanks to everyone else who turned up to see us. Many new faces there again and we hope to see you all at some of our future gigs.
HANX!!

Band History

The origins of "Nobody's Heroes" date back to the mid-nineties, when founder members Tim Pearson & Andy Levick played together in the 3-piece outfit "Reckless". We mainly played covers of SLF & Greenday songs in those days, but even then, it was always the aim to eventually become more SLF oriented. After 1 gig though, rehearsals stopped and the drummer moved to America.Tim and Andy didn't meet up again until early 2004, but decided to have another crack at getting things going again, under the current band name, taken from the title of a classic Stiff Little Fingers Album. Again we were planning on being a three piece band but once we found a drummer, we decided to bring in a second guitarist to help "fill out" the sound. Our first attempt with a second guitarist was unsuccessful for a couple of reasons but the end result was that Tim's son Scott was given a chance to see how he fitted in. Scott had been brought up listening to the type of music we played so we thought he would be ideal for the job providing he could play the stuff. Backing vocals were also a bonus! We played a few gigs around Sheffield including The Boardwalk and things were starting to take off again. Then, the drummer decided to concentrate on other things and decided to call it a day.It took us around 10 months to find a suitable replacement and eventually we found Nigel, our current stick man! Within a couple of rehearsal sessions it became clear that Nigel fitted in perfectly, not just as a drummer but also as "one of the gang".That's where we're up to at the moment. Our first gig with our present line-up was in August 2007 and we've played regularly since then. Bookings are coming in on a regular basis and we're making new friends wherever we play. This, along with our regular crowd of friends & family makes every gig an ace night out with a great atmosphere.
